Kickdown switch
The kick-down switch, which is mounted beneath the accelerator, sends a signal to pin 8 of the transmission control module when the accelerator is fully depressed (wide open throttle). When fully depressed, the accelerator activates the kick-down switch and the voltage on pin 8 is 0 V (ground).
The transmission control module uses the signal to select gear-shifting points for maximum performance. The kick-down function is available in all gear-shifting programs.
