| | Fault diagnosis, no sound or noise Fault symptom No sound from radio or noise only. Diagnostic procedure | 1. | Unplug the aerial cable at the rear of the radio. Take a resistance reading across the screening of the cable and a good grounding point. The resistance should be < 1 ohm. | 2. | If the resistance is not OK, check the grounding of the aerial to the car body. Be sure to check the ground connection at the aerial rod (mounting fixture). | 3. | Try fitting a new aerial cable loosely in the car. | 4. | Try fitting a new aerial.
