Checking control module grounding

Check the grounding of the
control module by measuring the voltage across battery positive and pin E (5) of the control
module connector and a good ground (e.g. a door hinge bolt).
The voltage reading should be about 12 V.

If the voltage is not about 12 V, check the wiring harness for continuity
or a short circuit by measuring the resistance across pin E (5) of the control module connector
and the grounding point.
The resistance should be > 1 ohm.
