Door indication, driver and passenger doors
Fault symptom
Alarm not armed. Doors disconnected from alarm function.
Diagnostic procedure
1 Check the "DOOR OPEN" indicator lamp

Close all doors.
| - |
Open and close one door at a time, observing the "DOOR OPEN" indicator lamp in the main instrument display panel.

Repeat the process for all doors.
Is the indicator lamp working correctly?

yes
Continue with point 4.

no
Continue with point 2.
2 Check diagnostic trouble codes in ICE

Connect the ISAT scan tool.
| - |
Select "ICE".
| - |
Select "READ FAULT CODES".
| - |
Check whether diagnostic trouble code B1437, "DOOR OPEN" indicator lamp shorted to Batt+, is stored.
Is the DTC present?

yes
Continue fault diagnosis as described in Service Manual 3:5 Electrical system "ICE".

no
Continue with point 3.
3 Check the "DOOR OPEN" indicator lamp

Select "ICE".
| - |
Select "ACT.INSTR.FUNCT".
| - |
Select "DOOR INDIC.LAMP".
By selecting "ON" and "OFF", the above command controls the "DOOR OPEN" indicator lamp.
Does the indicator lamp come on when activated?

yes
Continue fault diagnosis as described in Service Manual 3:5 Electrical system "ICE", checking door switches. If the indicator lamp remains on continuously, proceed to point 5 after checking other parts as above.

Continue fault diagnosis as described in Service Manual 3:5 Electrical system "ICE" or "MIU".
4 Check the operation of the door switches

Select "THEFT ALARM".
| - |
Select "READ VALUES".
| - |
Select "PASSENGER DOOR".
| - |
Close all doors.
| - |
Open and close one door at a time while observing the ISAT scan tool display.
| - |
Repeat the process for all doors.
Is ISAT indicating correctly?

yes
Continue with point 6.
|
no
Continue with point 5.
5 Check the wiring connected to the electronic control module
Check the wiring harness for continuity between pin 8 of connector H33-3 and pin 4 of the electronic control module.
The resistance should be < 1 ohm.
Is the resistance correct?

yes
Continue with point 6.
|
no
Repair or replace the wiring harness.
6 Final check
Check to see if the fault symptom remains.
Is the problem still present?
|
yes
See "Before replacing a control module".
|
no
The remedial measures taken were correct or the fault is of intermittent nature.
