Checking the stall speed

This test must not take longer than 5 seconds! Checking is not recommended for the turbo version.

The test shows the general condition of the engine and transmission by checking maximum engine revs in gear positions D and R.
Checking the stall speed
| 1. |
Chock all four wheels on the car.
| 2. |
Apply the handbrake fully.
| 3. |
Press the brake pedal hard.
| 4. |
Start the engine and move the selector lever to position D.
| 5. |
Press the accelerator to the floor (wide open throttle) and quickly read the highest engine rpm attained. The stall speed should be
B258i:
2150 ± 150 rpm.
B234i:
2300 ± 150 rpm.
B204L:
2325 ± 150 rpm.

Repeat the test with the selector lever in position R. The stall speed should be the same as above.
