MIU Explorer - Saab 9-3 Odometer Synchronization
When the dashboard, also known as the instrument cluster or MIU, of your Saab 9-3 malfunctions with issues like stuck needles, defective displays, or dead pixels, replacement with a used model is often necessary.

However, a major hurdle remains: the original official equipment (Tech2 or Tech2win) only allows increasing the mileage on an odometer, never decreasing it. Thus, if your Saab has low mileage but the replacement odometer shows higher mileage, you risk driving with incorrect readings.
To overcome this technical limitation, the MIU Explorer tool was created. It allows direct modification of the odometer's memory to register the exact value for your vehicle.
Note: Currently, this tool is only compatible with Saab 9-3 NG Phase 1 (models produced from 2003 to 2006 equipped with an ICM module for the car radio).

Security: It applies Saab's original calculation method, distributing the kilometers across multiple memory cells to prevent chip wear, ensuring operation without bugs or error codes.
2. Read odometer information and references
By analyzing your memory file, the tool instantly decodes the recorded chassis number (VIN) and hardware (Hardware) and software (Software) references.

How does it work (in three simple steps)?
To use this tool, you need to retrieve the information contained in the small memory chip (type 24C02) soldered onto the odometer's circuit board.

Reading: Using an economical electronic reader connected to a computer, save the chip's content into a "dump" file in
.binformat of 256 or 512 bytes.Analysis: Upload this file directly onto the site in the tool, which will read the file and display the original chassis number (VIN), references, and recorded mileage in this odometer.
Modification: Enter your car's actual mileage, and the site will generate a new corrected file. You simply need to rewrite this file into the odometer's chip.
